Have your say on Central Finland’s draft regional strategy

The Regional Board of Central Finland decided on 19 September 2025 to open the draft regional strategy and its environmental report for public comment. You can submit feedback in the online Service for Statements between 22 September and 21 October 2025.

The draft brings together the priorities for the next few years and outlines a long-term direction towards a future-proof and secure Central Finland. It highlights harmony between people, nature and the economy, as well as preparedness, security of supply and the ability to recover from crises. The short-term goals guide work under four themes, and the long-term horizon extends to 2050. The accompanying environmental report assesses likely economic, ecological, social and cultural impacts. Most of these are estimated to be positive, while the assessment also notes tensions between economic growth and ecological objectives.

How to respond

You can submit a statement in the Service for Statements, which is maintained by the Ministry of Justice. Anyone can share their views. You may comment on all parts of the strategy or focus on the sections that matter most to you. Strong electronic identification is required, and all statements are public.
