The Strategy of Central Finland 2050 includes four growth drivers, which are also the smart specialisation choices in Central Finland:

Central Finland’s forests are a global resource and provide lots of varying commodities: for example, textile fibres for cutting-edge sustainable clothing and elaborate products for construction. We know that the value of raw materials increases as they circulate. That is why we see brown gold in manure storages and set up a mine in the city.
Well-being is our cross-cutting strength
At the heart of nature, the home region of the sauna, peace and balance come naturally to us. We put our energy into promoting well-being, physical activity and health. Here, the old are young too.
